Job Description:
IBM is looking for a Research Scientist to join our team. The candidate will be expected to work with a diverse team of researchers to developed novel, computational approaches to solve biological problems - primarily in support of a platform focused on cancer genomics. This project will involve tight collaboration with biologists, clinicians, and software developers. As such, the candidate would be expected to have a understanding of molecular and translational biology.
IBM is seeking a candidate with a Ph.D. degree in computational biology, bioinformatics, systems biology, or similar field. The candidate should have extensive experience analyzing genomics, transcriptomics and proteomic datasets, as well as pathway analysis, graph theory, informatics, network reconstruction, and machine learning for big data. The candidate should also have experience in developing software from research grade to commercially robust offerings. The successful candidate will have an established record of performing research and building systems in the above-mentioned areas, as well as creating novel models and algorithms.
Required
Doctorate Degree
At least 2 years experience in industrial research
At least 3 years experience in machine learning
At least 4 years experience in molecular biology
At least 2 years experience in software development (C++, Java, SQL)
