The International Institute for Accelerator Applications at the University of Huddersfield is seeking to appoint a well-qualified Research Fellow to assist with the consolidation and expansion of the Medium Energy Ion Scattering (MEIS) apparatus, which has recently been successfully re-commissioned within the Institute.

You would be responsible for the operation of the apparatus, and will participate in the associated research programme. Some graduate-level teaching and supervision will be involved.

You should have a PhD in physics, or a relevant subject, preferably have experience with ion scattering and be familiar with the operation of high vacuum, high voltage equipment, and its operation.

You will be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with others and write successful research papers. It is expected that you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work positively and enthusiastically, being self-motivated and well organised, with the potential to establish your own successful research programme.
