Faculty Position
Department: Medicine - Cardiology
Campus: Stony Brook West Campus/HSC
Salary: Commensurate with experience Required Qualifications: MD/equivalent or Ph.D in related field. Postdoctoral research experience and relevant publications. Experienced investigator with a focus on translational or basic research. Preferred Qualifications: Have or establish an innovative externally-funded research program with a focus on cardiology, physiology or biophysics.
Responsibilities & Requirements: The selected candidate will focus on translational or basic research. This is a joint appointment with the Departments of Medicine and Physiology and Biophysics. Departmental and institutional support facilities include cores for advanced microscopy and imaging, proteomics, microarray, metabolomics/lipidomics and bioinformatics.
Special Notes: This is a tenure track position. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. To qualify for an appointment as an Associate Professor, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine ( School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
The selected candidate must successfully clear a background investigation.
