Applications are invited for a Research Associate to work within the Telomere Replication and Stability group headed by Dr Jean-Baptiste Vannier in the Epigenetics section of the MRC Clinical Sciences Centre (CSC).

The objective of the group is to study the molecular dynamics of DNA secondary structures during mammalian DNA replication. Our aim is to understand the mechanisms that facilitate DNA replication at hard to replicate loci, including telomeres, which will lead to an outstanding description of how telomeric structures affect replication progression, genome stability and cancer predisposition. Visit: http://csc.mrc.ac.uk/research-group/telomere-replication-and-stability for further information.

The CSC is one of three MRC-funded research Institutes in the United Kingdom and is a Division of Imperial College London (IC), one of the top Universities in the world. The CSC, situated on the Hammersmith Hospital Campus of IC, employs over 400 researchers and fosters an interactive, interdisciplinary environment that provides a dynamic interface between leading basic and clinical research.

You should have a PhD (or equivalent) in Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Biomedical sciences or a related field. Training in Human diseases related to telomere defects is desirable.  An interest in telomere biology and methods (including FISH or CO-FISH, TRF analysis, telomere ChIP and DNA damage response at telomeres (TIFs) is desirable.

Please contact Dr Jean-Baptiste Vannier (j.vannier@imperial.ac.uk) for further enquiries.
