The Functional Genomic laboratory headed by Thomas Gingeras, PhD. is seeking an exceptionally motivated postdoctoral fellow in molecular mammalian genetics.
Position Requirements
A successful applicant will possess a PhD degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics or related fields. Applicants should have proven skills in forward or reverse genetics in human or mouse cell lines and practical experience with the discovery of genes responsible for specific phenotypes or with the identification of phenotypes associated with the expression of specific genes. Experience in mammalian cell culture, next generation RNAseq, basic bioinformatics and extracellular vesicle (EV) biology is highly desirable. This postdoctoral position will involve studies in inter-cellular communication and will be focused on efforts to identify genes responsible for the generation of bio-active short RNAs found in EVs, or determining phenotypes of cells harboring mutations in the EV sRNAs.
