Job Description:
This position (12 months Post-Doc) is to be filled as part of an ongoing telemedicine project to follow heart failure patients living at home. This interdisciplinary project includes the development of software for assistance to drug prescription (LAP), to assist physicians in the follow-up of the evolution of pathology in their patient. The postdoc will be integrated into the team in charge of the development of the LAP composed of statisticians and computer scientists of the University of Lorraine and CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique).
The design of this software includes two versions. The first version is based on the experience of clinicians at the origin of the project and integrates current clinical practices. This version was designed and completed during a first postdoctoral contract. The second version will incorporate elements of medical decision support issued from statistical learning methods developed as part of a current PhD thesis and of this contract.
The new postdoc will develop incremental learning methods, in collaboration with the doctoral student. According to results obtained, he will implement them in the LAP. These methods will involve accurate recursive calculations or stochastic approximations. In addition, depending on the availability of data from a clinical study, the postdoc will proceed to testing of the software.
Confidentiality of the project is a major consideration and a corresponding commitment will be taken. We are looking for motivated individuals, interested in the Life Sciences or Medicine, with the following skills:
- PhD in Computer Science or Statistics
- Knowledge of R
- Knowledge of a programming language (Java, C++)
- Knowledge of statistical software (SAS or other)
- Ability to work in a team and to respect the confidentialityJob Information Position Type: Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships Start Date: January 01, 2016 Duration: Contract Status: openContact InformationUniversity of Lorraine and University Hospital of Nancy
