Job Description We seek a dynamic and highly motivated individual to lead the development and implementation of an ELIXIR-wide strategy for management, archiving, and responsible sharing of human data consented for reuse in scientific research. This will include development of data access and security strategies and governance processes in collaboration with technical experts from the ELIXIR Nodes, e-infrastructures and ELIXIR user communities. As the ELIXIR Human Data Coordinator you will work closely with ELIXIR’s data resources & national Nodes to develop and manage ELIXIR’s portfolio of implementation projects and services. You will engage collaboratively with ELIXIR partners, national user communities and external stakeholders (such as other research infrastructure, Global Alliance for Genomics and Health, publishers and funders) to ensure development and maintenance for long-term responsible management of human data consented for research use. ELIXIR  is a unique undertaking that consolidates Europe’s bioinformatics resources, services, and national centres into a single, coherent infrastructure. ELIXIR ensures interoperable tools, long-term sustainability and the reuse of life-science data by supporting community standards and running common services. As a distributed research infrastructure ELIXIR is built upon the bioinformatics services provided by the national ELIXIR Nodes.  The ELIXIR Hub is located at EMBL-EBI, Wellcome Trust Genome Campus, and has excellent facilities in an attractive campus environment in the Cambridgeshire countryside with transport provided to nearby Cambridge and Saffron Walden. At ELIXIR you would join a dynamic, international team. You will have frequent contact with our ELIXIR Nodes, located in our European member states, therefore an ability to travel is essential. Qualifications and Experience Our ideal candidate will have a university degree in the life-sciences, computer science, or another rigorous discipline with experience from research environments in bioinformatics / medical informatics. An advanced degree in one of these fields is an advantage. S/he will have at least five years of experience in an informatics-intensive biomedical research environment, including handling sensitive human data with understanding of information security vulnerabilities and risk management. S/he will also have a demonstrated ability to coordinate and motivate technical teams in a distributed environment to deliver against challenging goals and timelines. The ELIXIR Human Data Coordinator should possess excellent communication and presentation skills, and an ability to lead in a collaborative, international environment.
