University of Glasgow College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences Research Institute of Biodiversity Animal Health and Comparative Medicine (IBAHCM) Research Associate Ref: 011679 Grade 7: £33,574 – £37,768 per annum Working with Dr Kathryn Elmer you will make a leading contribution to a project focusing on the genomics of major evolutionary transitions working within the Evolutionary Analysis group of IBAHCM. Possessing a PhD or equivalent in evolutionary biology, genetics, molecular evolution, evo-devo, bioinformatics, or other relevant subject as well as fluency in bioinformatics and analysis of complex genomes, the postholder will conduct, manage and publish research in the areas of de novo genome analysis, quantitative trait mapping, and ecological genomics as well as assist in managing and directing this complex and challenging project. This position has funding for up to 19 months in the first instance.
