Job Description:
Job position to apply or develop computational bioinformatics methods in the field of Immunology
• Obtained a Master or a PhD in bioinformatics or computer science with a strong interest in biology, or a Master / PhD in biological sciences with demonstrable computational skills and at least 2 years of proven bioinformatics experience.
• Expertise in data analysis, preferably using languages such as Python or R, and in working on Unix based systems
• Prior experience with public repositories of genomics datasets (ArrayExpress, GEO,…).
• Hands-on experience with the analysis and interpretation of sequencing data generated by RNA-Seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq and/or 3C-Seq.
• The capacity to apply common statistical approaches to transcription data (RNA-seq and microarray), such as identification of differential expression, gene ontology analysis and pathway network inference analysis.
• An interest in communicating and interacting with experimental scientists and the capacity to interpret and translate data into biological knowledge.
• The capacity to train young students and post-docs with a biological / medical background enabling them to apply basic bioinformatics analysis of publicly available or newly generated sequencing data.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English (knowledge of French is not mandatory but is considered an asset).
The position is for 2 years and subject to renewal.
