To do that, we need creative, dedicated, collaborative people. Think you might be a fit? We're seeking a Bioinformatics Analyst to support our Bioinformatics side of IT. In this role, you will part of a tea in helping analyze and re-design business processes specific to LIMS and analytics software supporting our genetics lab operations. Specific tasks include;
- Gather, analyze, evaluate, and document workflows, processes, procedures, and user needs for commercially-available Laboratory Information Management System.
- Work with business and laboratory users and technical staff to understand business processes, needs, and problems to be addressed.
- Perform basic management and configuration of LIMS according to user specifications as required.
- Gather information from multiple sources such as interviews, document review, and task/workflow analysis.
- Coordinate and support implementation by internal developers and outside vendors, internal software QA, and laboratory validation efforts.
- Identify and evaluate business process improvement opportunities.
- Create documentation including User Stories, Requirements Documents and Functional Specifications to facilitate ongoing development and improvement of supported software.
- BS Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or related field
- Experience with the implementation and maintenance of LIMS is highly desired.
- Experience performing requirements analysis and design specifications for software development projects and writing requirements and design documents
- Experience planning software implementations and prioritizing work for software development teams
- Experience with HIPAA compliance is highly desired
- Experience in a clinical laboratory or regulated industry is highly desired
- Strong knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle processes
- Strong technical background and experience
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
- Knowledge of genetics and biology is highly desired
- Ability to learn new technologies and concepts with minimal guidance
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
