In Computational Plant Biology

The Department of Molecular, Cell & Developmental Biology (MCDB) and the new Institute for Quantitative and Computational Biosciences (QCB) are searching for one joint faculty appointment at either the junior or senior level. All computational biologists working in any area of molecular, cell, and developmental biology with a particular interest in plant biology are invited to apply. Research that applies cutting edge computational biology to a wide range of topics will be considered, ranging from genomics, networks and dynamics to development, metabolism, and stress-responses.  The competitive applicant’s research program will include novel quantitative, computational, or bioinformatic methodologies. UCLA boasts thriving research communities in developmental and plant biology, as well as in genomics, bioinformatics and computational systems biology.  The joint position will support the new faculty to contribute to both, and to the respective educational programs at the undergraduate and graduate level. The joint position is expected to develop new synergies between the QCB and MCDB missions.
