Scientist – Bioinformatics/Computational Biochemistry

Calysta, Inc. in Menlo Park, CA is seeking a bioinformatics scientist. The successful candidate will have experience with developing metabolic models, data analysis, integration of data from different studies (metabolomics, genomics, transcriptomics, etc.), statistical analysis, database development and management, and be comfortable working independently and as a member of a fast paced cross functional team. Position Summary: This is a full-time position which will require independent work, as well as integration with scientists in the strain engineering, fermentation and analytical groups. Duties may include but are not limited to:

• Comparison and analysis of sequencing and biochemical data.
• Build and refine metabolic model to represent core central metabolism and product production in engineered methanotrophic strains.
• Develop or acquire and evaluate software solutions to manage and analyze large data sets and reduce to actionable hypotheses.
• Develop or acquire and evaluate computational tools to recommend further strain improvement strategies.
• Identification and in silico evaluation of novel biosynthetic pathways (energetics, theoretical yield, etc.)
