Shortlist Add to shortlist Apply

Two postdoc positions are immediately available at the Yang Zhang Lab, Department of Computational Medicine and Bioinformatics and Department of Biological Chemistry, University of Michigan.

The first position is on functional protein design and wet-lab experimental validations. The candidate will develop new computational methods to design new protein sequences of novel enzyme activity, ligand binding, and/or protein-protein interactions. Candidates, who have interest in leading an independent structural biochemistry lab and have experience in computational protein design, DNA and protein engineering, X-ray crystallography, NMR, or protein-ligand binding assay, are encouraged to apply. Skills in computational programming are not required but will be a plus to the position.

The second position is on protein folding and protein structure prediction. The candidate will develop new computational methods for ab initio protein structure prediction and high-resolution structure refinement. Candidates, who are interested in protein folding, protein structure prediction, GPCR modeling, protein docking, and/or structure-based drug screening, are encouraged to apply. We are more interested in new and creative algorithm developments rather than application of existing methods. Skill in computational coding and creativity in scientific method development are critical to the projects.

More details on our projects can be found at http://zhanglab.ccmb.med.umich.edu/research. Only the creative individuals with ambition to develop a highly successful academic career are considered. If interested in the position, please send your CV and a brief description of your research interest and research plan to Dr. Yang Zhang (Email: zhng@umich.edu).
