Postdoc in Bioinformatics University College LondonComputer Science & Structural and Molecular BiologyUnited Kingdom-England-London An immediate postdoctoral vacancy is available for a postdoc to join the bioinformatics research group of Prof. David Jones at University College London. The project is in the general area of protein function and protein-protein interaction prediction from sequence data.
The specific task in this project will be to explore ways of integrating high throughput experimental data (e.g. from mass spectrometry experiments) into an integrated system for gene function prediction. However, the successful applicant will also have opportunities to get involved with other lab research projects e.g. in protein structure prediction or general machine learning applications to biological problems.
Please note that we need to fill this post immediately, so applicants who are not in a position to start without delay cannot be considered.
This post is funded until Feb 2018 in the first instance.
  Applicants should have a relevant PhD (e.g. in bioinformatics) and one or more bioinformatics papers accepted or published in a refereed journal. Experience of applying machine learning tools to biological data and good software development skills are essential. Some familiarity with proteomics methods and data would be considered an advantage.
Fluency in both written and spoken English, along with a track record of getting papers accepted for publication in refereed journals is essential.
