Our Research division at our Ruffin Road Office has an immediate opening for a full time/part time qualified Clinical Data Analyst. This position will be responsible for the growth and enhancement of data systems for comprehensive, longitudinal and interdisciplinary research studies using Access and Microsoft SQL. Design applications to view and analyze information, including Web-based interactive databases. This role will actively participate as a key member of the research team by designing, implementing, and documenting management and data capturing procedures and outcomes. Use initiative and vision to create innovative ideas and approaches and to enhance techniques to realize the department's short- and long-term objectives. Perform statistical analyses including basic descriptive statistics. Independently prepare written materials related to study data and analysis.
The Clinical Data Analyst will review, interpret, analyze and illustrate the data for presentation, decision-making, and manuscripts. This person works relatively independently and closely with the supervisor and research affiliates. Research studies involve clinical quality, patient safety, process improvement, and standardization of medical practices. Topics include health outcomes of prostate/breast cancer patients who are given certain medical treatments or no treatments in the long term, comparing standard treatment options versus tailored treatments, and implementation of standardized best practices within the clinical setting.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
Experience developing and designing database applications in Access and SQL Server that include forms, reports, queries and interfaces to other database systems.Demonstrated ability to develop complex Access and SQL Server scripts.Ability to read study protocols with sufficient comprehension to determine the nature of data to be collected.Experience in programming with SQL, Access, Excel, for use with network and systems administration, as well as developing applications and interfacing with the Web.Knowledge of RDMS and relational database practices as related to medical and research data.Proven experience with importing data and converting data from other systems to Access, SQL or other systems.Proven ability to analyze complex situations, data and/or issues and develop clear and concise recommendations, reports, or definition of options. Proven ability to write clearly and concisely.Must possess strong leadership, organizational, planning and management skills. Proven excellent management skills in a research, community agency or health care setting. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface and communicateEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Informatics, Management Information Systems, Statistics or a related field; or equivalent combination of work experience and education.Skills :
