Job Description:
A PhD student position is available in the Brain Metastasis Group at CNIO (www.valientelab.com). The laboratory has been recently established as part of the Molecular Oncology Program and it is located in Madrid.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with previous laboratory experience, excellent CV and the ambition to pursue a scientific career. Brain metastasis is an emerging field in cancer research with very important clinical implications. Our laboratory offers projects combining Neuroscience and Cancer Biology to study fundamental aspects of metastatic tumors in the brain using a large variety of mouse models. Research findings will be validated in human samples. Candidates with probed experience in these scientific fields are encouraged to apply. Expertise in bioinformatics, functional genetic screens, cell culture (cancer cells and brain primary cells), mouse models, in vivo/ ex vivo brain manipulations, metastasis assays will be required for the project and thus positively evaluated. Selected candidates will be enrolled in the CNIO PhD program associated with highly ranked Universities in Madrid. Position is fully funded.
