Assistant/Associate Professor -- Computational & Systems Biology (Tenure Track)University of PennsylvaniaPathology and Laboratory MedicineUnited States-PA-Philadelphia The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant or Associate Professor position in the tenure track. The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Computational & Systems Biology with a focus on the central nervous system. Responsibilities include developing and carrying out an independent research program that is synergistic with the scientific missions of Penn Neurodegeneration Genomics Center, and participating in graduate and medical school education. Applicants must have an Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree and have demonstrated excellent qualifications in research and education. The successful candidate should interface with the strong ongoing programs in the genetics and pathobiology of neurodegenerative diseases. We seek candidates who will develop cutting edge research that develops computational models, methodologies and/or experimental approaches to address biological and biomedical problems related to the brain with the eventual goal of developing therapeutic interventions for major neurodegenerative diseases. Potential research focus includes but is not limited to modeling cellular and molecular interactions and pathways, use of model organisms for generating human disease oriented leads, analysis of large genomic and phenotype data sets, and personalized medicine for central nervous system disorders. Experience in systems biology and human genetics is desirable.
