Some potential projects include, but are not limited to: (1) Single-cell analysis of DNA methylation and hydroxymethylation. (2) Single-cell analysis of RNA modifications at single-base resolution. (3) Single-cell analysis of chromatin interactions via Hi-C. (4) Integrative analysis of multiple related single-cell datasets to understand mechanism of gene regulation and reconstruct gene regulatory networks. The applicant(s) is expected to hold a doctoral degree in a related field, such as computational biology and bioinformatics, statistical genetics, (bio)statistics or computer science. Candidates with a degree in biological sciences are also encouraged to apply if they have demonstrated experience in computational or statistical work. The candidate will join a team of distinguished genomic and computational scientists, including Drs. Matthew Stephens and Xin He at Department of Human Genetics, and Dr. Chuan He at Department of Chemistry. The primary responsibility of the candidate will be development of computational and statistical methods to analyze genomic data generated from cutting-edge technologies, many of which developed at Dr. Chuan He’s lab. A strong emphasis would be DNA and RNA epigenomics at the single-cell level. The candidate will be directly co-supervised by Drs. Xin He and Matthew Stephens, and will interact closely with experimental scientists at Dr. Chuan He’s lab.
