A Clinical Research Division laboratory that studies hematopoietic stem cell biology and is developing novel genetic modification strategies for stem cell gene therapies is recruiting a Research Technician II to assist with 1) the large scale production of non-infectious retroviruses (foamy virus) for gene therapy studies and 2) tracking of retrovirus integration sites in cell populations using Next-Generation Sequencing technology.

The position will involve additional responsibilities, such as culture and analysis of cells infected with HIV and related viruses. This position affords the motivated technician an opportunity to develop and utilize tissue culture and virology skills, as well as molecular biology and bioinformatics skills.
