Call for expressions of interest Marie Sklodowska-Curie IF proposals - Structural bioinformatics Employer Universitat Pompeu Fabra-Departament de Ciències Experimentals i de la Salut Location Spain Posted June 16 2016 Discipline Other Position Type Full Time Send Save Apply We are seeking for candidates to a Marie Curie fellowship, interested in the field of structural bioinformatics, with capacity to offer new ideas and develop his/her own within the scientific subject of this announcement (see further).
JOB DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be involved in the development of tools offered in SBI and his own, focused on the analysis of protein-interactions and network rewiring, implying new aspects of research within the topic of this opening (see summary). The candidate may also help in the lecturing of structural bioinformatics in the degrees of Biology and Bioinformatics and the master of Bioinformatics for Health, in the Universitat Pompeu Fabra.
Skills and experience:
- Knowledge of structural bioinformatics techniques (docking, template-based homology modelling, sequence and structure alignment, etc.)
- Excellent programming/scripting skills in:
- Script/Programming languages: Python, C, C++ and/or Java.
- Web programming knowledge, for example in: Angular JS, JavaScript, PHP, Django, Bottle, HTML5, CGI, etc.
- Databases in: SQL, MySQL, SQLite, MongoDB
- Graduate/engineer in one of the following areas: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, informatics, human biology, biomedical engineering.
- PhD or equivalent in bioinformatics or computational biology
