Job Description:
Verily Life Sciences is focused on shifting health care from a reactive, undifferentiated approach to a proactive, targeted approach by transforming the detection, prevention, management and even our basic understanding of disease. The Verily Life Sciences team is focused on helping to move healthcare from reactive to proactive. Combining expertise from the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, medicine, electrical engineering, computer science, we’re developing new technology tools for physicians that can integrate easily into daily life and help transform the detection, prevention, and management of disease. Current projects in development include a smart contact lens with miniaturized glucose sensor ; a nano diagnostics platform to help with early detection of disease ; and Liftware utensils for people with tremor. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and execute experimental research projects of high complexity.
Develop novel experimental and analytical tools for high throughput sequencing-based assays.
Evaluate and recommend new emerging technologies in relevant fields.
Create scientifically rigorous visualizations, communications, and presentations of results.
Contribute to the generation of standard protocols and intellectual property.
Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:
PhD degree in genetics, genome sciences, molecular biology, bioengineering, bioinformatics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Hands-on experience with molecular biology, cell biology, assay development, high throughput methods, and massively parallel sequencing platforms.
Method development experience in one or more of the following experimental areas: functional screens, genome editing, synthetic biology, epigenetic profiling, microbiome analysis, or other innovative approaches to interrogate and understand biological systems.

Preferred qualifications:
2 years of post-graduate experience.
Extensive lentiviral gene delivery and cell culture experience.
Demonstrated expertise in both experimental and computational analysis.
Fluency in standard bioinformatics tools, Python, Perl, and R.
Excellent creativity, decision making, and troubleshooting skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills along with strong written and oral communication skills, as demonstrated through publications and presentations.
