Job Summary : ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow microbial systems and bioinformatics at its Corporate Strategic Research laboratory located in Annandale, NJ.
Primary Job Functions: We are seeking a candidate to join a team executing programs aimed at understanding and manipulating microbial metabolism related to the oil and gas industry. Opportunities exist to participate in other emerging energy research.
Job Requirements: A PhD in microbiology, biochemistry or related field is required. The successful candidate must have a strong background in experimental microbiology and bioinformatics, as well as a demonstrated track record in developing informatics and computational approaches aimed to understand complex microbial communities from molecular level systems to whole organism physiology.
The successful candidate should be willing to explore new areas and have excellent analytical skills, strong leadership skills, and outstanding communication skills allowing him or her to develop broad based research programs.
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Previous experience with biofilms, “omics” and/or anaerobic microbiology is highly desirable.
