Postdoctoral Scientist - Bioinformatics Employer RCSI Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland Location Europe Posted August 26 2016 Discipline Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology Position Type Full Time Send Save Apply The Post-doctoral scientist will
1) Inform on design and development of next-generation sequencing exome and gene-panels.
2) Manage library preparation and sequencing pipelines,

3) Handle and manage sequence data generated as part of both studies and
4) Handle bioinformatics/run genome annotation analysis for both projects.
The successful applicant will be based at RCSI, St Stephen's Green, Dublin. They will be a member of several multi-disciplinary project teams. This is a full-time equivalent position for up to 1 year.
The duties of the Post-doctoral scientist will include:
• Designing next-generation sequencing pipelines
• Running library preparation and sequencing pipelines
• Designing, running and managing bioinformatics processes related to alignment and annotation of sequencing data
• Preparing and maintaining ethics and regulatory documents
• Participating in the multi-disciplinary team, including attending team meetings and contributing to overall project aims and deliverables
• Grant writing
