Job Responsibilities:
A candidate is sought to join the Molecular, Expression and Screening Technologies Group. This person will manage and also directly contribute to the cloning activities within the group. The individual will design and implement complicated cloning projects, They will also initiate new molecular biology technologies (e.g. Golden Gate Cloning) to the group and applies them to projects of moderate complexity such as library generation for expression of bispecific antibodies or other libraries destined for expression on the high-throughput protein expression platform. In addition the individual will present data in well-organized written and oral formats at various team, group, and project review meetings.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
MS in a biological related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience or a Ph.D. and 0-2 years of relevant experience. Required skills for the candidate include molecular biology skills such as design and ordering of synthetic DNA fragments (e.g. gBlocks), PCR primer design, PCR amplification from cDNA and plasmid templates, agarose gel electrophoresis, knowledge of Invitrogen’s Gateway technology, DNA purification, DNA sequencing and sequence analysis as well as site-directed mutagenesis. Data management, including knowledge of LIMS or similar databases is required. Automation experience (e.g. Tecan, Biomek FX or NX) is desired. Familiarity with the use of fundamental bioinformatics tools is required.
