Research Fellow (Bioinformatics) Employer William Harvey Research Institute Location Other Posted September 15 2016 Discipline Other Position Type Full Time Send Save Apply The post would suit a flexible, organised, intuitive individual with a broad range of skills in data analysis and bioinformatics.
The successful applicant will work closely with Prof. M. Korbonits and her colleagues in the Centre of Endocrinology on endocrine genetic syndromes.
Requirements:
- Higher degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant discipline (eg, computer science, bioinformatics, genetics, biology, maths, statistics, physics, computer science
- Bioinformatics and programming
- Processing and analyses of next generation sequencing (NGS) data
- Analyses and annotation of genomic variant data
- Programming in one or more of the following environments: linux Perl, R, Java, C++, javascript, XMLBioperl, Bioconductor,
- An understanding of basic statistical concepts and expertise in working in Stata, Matlab or related statistical package.
- Knowledge and experience of bioinformatics resources relevant to genome analysis and interpretation
- Tools for alignment, variant calling and analysis of panel/WES/WGS data
