Job Description:
A Post Doctoral Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Luis Montaner located at the Wistar Institute. Specific projects include investigating the mechanisms involved in regulation of tumor growth by microenvironment primarily focusing on the role played by neutrophils. Our work combines virological and immune system-based research through long-standing community partnerships and clinical trials research, as well as by using laboratory models of virus infection.

Our work focuses on:

1) regulation of innate immunity

2) identifying new mechanisms of immunodeficiency (and discovering new approaches to reverse them)

3) exploring new therapy management practices

4) understanding the relationship between immune antiviral responses and control of HIV-1 infection

The preferred candidate is a recent PhD/DPhil recipient with a strong background in: virology, immunology, animal models, and/or molecular/cellular biology. Experience with molecular biology, molecular screening, bioinformatics, microscopy, and flow cytometry are a plus.
