Job Description:
Supports the research program in the Department of Urology; designs and establishes integrated databases (including clinical outcomes database) to evaluate clinical, translational, foundational and/or public health research data; identifies resources, data elements and issues to accurately capture required data; determines appropriate methodology for the generation and collection of data; works with collaborators to establish and collect data ensuring compliance to regulatory and legal requirements for the exchange of materials and data; performs data mining and synthesizing of data; collaborates with information warehouse and other sources to identify ways to integrate clinical data into research databases; uses statistical qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze and summarize data; validates and ensures accurate and relevant use of data; prepares reports to aid in operational decisions, strategic planning and current and future research projects; works with research team and faculty to develop, write and edit statistical and data management components to scientific documents including protocols, manuscripts, presentations and other scholarly work including grants; consults and collaborates with faculty and staff to develop and maintain data repositories; identifies, initiates and monitors process improvement opportunities.
Education and experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Science, statistical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; experience with the development of integrated databases containing clinical or research data required; experience in a statistical, bioinformatics or information technology capacity supporting research required; experience using statistical analysis software required; experience programming in a variety of languages preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
