UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA PERELMAN SCHOOL OF MEDICINE Postdoctoral Researcher Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher to work at the cutting edge of bioinformatics & medicine in the laboratory of Prof. Mitchell Lazar at the Institute for Diabetes, Obesity, and Metabolism at the University of Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will have a strong computational biology background and work closely with experimental biologists to develop tools and analyze genomic (Gro-seq, RNA-Seq, ChIP-seq) and epigenomic (histone modification and DNA methylation) data. By applying integrative approaches, he/she will make discoveries related to diabetes, obesity, and metabolism. The University of Pennsylvania is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer. Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics/computer science/physics or a related field, be highly motivated to solve biological problems, and have strong programming skills. Expertise in developing bioinformatics tools using data mining and signal processing is highly recommended.
