Job Description:
ISAS seeks a talented and highly motivated Bioinformation to pursue bioinformatics infrastructure projects in collaboration within the German Network for Bioinformatics-Infrastructure (de.NBI). The primary focus is the setup of lipidomics search engines and the provision of databases for targeted lipidomics in biomedical research. A successful candidate will work with interdisciplinary teams (clinical, biostatistics, analytical and bioinformatics scientists), will stream line data analysis and integration across various domains. Regular publication of scientific and methodological results is strongly encouraged. Finally, the successful candidate will be able to effectively present complex results in a clear and concise manner that is accessible to a diverse audience of quantitative, experimental, and clinical scientists. Your profile •PhD in bioinformatics, biostatistics, computational biology or similar, with a strong publication record. •A solid understanding of the relevant concepts in mass spectrometry based lipidomics and/or metabolomics. Enthusiasm for learning more. •Broad experience in Software development, protection and care of the bioinformatics infrastructure. •An understanding of the statistical principles behind current best practices in the field. •Strong experience in the use of a low and high-level programming language such as JAVA, C++ and R, MATLAB, Python or Perl. •Strong communication, data presentation and visualization skills. Thereby English is required, German is an advantage. •Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to handle several concurrent, fast-paced projects.
