Job Description:
We are seeking a software engineer who is interested in genome technologies and passionate about applications to clinical diagnostics driven by big data discovery. You will be responsible for providing computational support for our core technology and product development, with opportunities to design and build the infrastructure for data management and analysis. This exceptional opportunity offers the chance to work at the forefront of genomic and cellular understanding of cancer, as well as big data and cloud development. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to innovate, work closely with experimental, regulatory, biological and clinical collaborators. Key Responsibilities and Duties: -Develop and maintain software packages with ISO/FDA compliance for the analysis of DNA high-throughput sequencing data. Work with software quality assurance and test engineers to evaluate algorithms and improve analysis software. -Proficiency in Linux and cloud environment. -Solid coding background is required. Demonstrated proficiency in Python or other scripting languages is preferred. -Knowledge of common bioinformatics tools, databases, and of large-scale genomics projects is a plus. -Work with research scientists to evaluate and troubleshoot experimental methods. -Bachelor/Master degree with job experience are encouraged to apply. Ph.D. is preferred. Additional Qualifications : -Experience in bioinformatics and NGS is preferred but not required. -Experience in FDA/ISO software development life cycle and continuous integration development environment is a plus. -Willingness to work hard and be creative in a fast-paced environment. -Work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues. -Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. -Exceptionally programming and algorithm development experience or a top-tier Ph.D. in computer science, math, physics, engineering, or a related field and familiarity with biological problems. A record of accomplishment is preferred. -Strong interest in and commitment to genomic research; previous experience in the field preferred but not required. The successful candidate must be capable of understanding and translating high-level scientific goals into concrete computational approaches.
