Job Description:
The candidate will join the Informatics group, to focus on data management and analysis, and software engineering, to enable SlipChip’s diagnostic product development. The candidate will: -Develop stand-alone and web-based applications. -Collaborate in the design and development of software, informatics infrastructure, and databases for data analysis and management. -Work closely with the R&D, Commercial, and other teams at SlipChip, to collect user requirements and develop software to address them. -Apply software development Best Practices to ensure SlipChip’s software products meet the highest quality standards. -Provide thorough documentation -Experience in building infrastructure, virtualization, and cluster or Cloud computing. Qualifications: Requirements: -B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, or similar, with 2+ years industry experience. Alternatively, candidates with degrees in Statistics or Mathematics, and sufficient coding/software engineering experience, will be considered. Experience in software development tools and technologies, Python, SQL, and relational databases (in particular, PostgreSQL). -Expert in web-based application development, Javascript, HTML, CSS, as well as frameworks and tools such as Django, Bootstrap, and jQuery. -Extensive experience with Linux and Windows, file management, and scripting. -Extensive experience in source control, version control, and release management tools. -Experience in software testing, validation, and documentation. -Experience in Agile software development. -Strong communication skills and ability to actively participate in interdisciplinary teams. Desired skills and experiences: -Familiarity with software regulatory standards for medical products. -Familiarity with Bioinformatics technologies, methodologies, and terminologies.
