Job Description:
IMS supports multiple bioinformatics initiatives from government and commercial institutions in public health and medical research applications. IMS is looking for an entry-level Data Analyst/Database Administrator to collect, organize, analyze, and distribute information, and to design, develop, administer, and maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple relational databases for our biomedical information systems. Tasks include data migration, data transformation, database analysis and tuning, index maintenance, data validation, data organization and storage, and database user account maintenance, in compliance with company standards and applicable regulations. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree from a U.S. Department of Education accredited institution in Computer Science, Information Science, Math, or a related field with at least a 2.9 GPA. -0-4 years of related experience. -Proficiency with SQL. -Knowledge of relational database analysis and design using Postgres, Oracle, MySQL, Sybase, or MS-SQL. -Must be able to create and modify database queries, views, and related objects. -Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell Scripting, etc.) -Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. -Demonstrated ability to relay technical information to clients and users in layman terms. -Demonstrated strong analytic and problem solving skills. -Demonstrated customer service skills. -Excellent attention to detail and organization skills. -Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work within a team. -Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. -Strong presentation skills preferred.
