Job Description:
VL37 seeks a highly motivated Computational Biologist to join a dynamic team of scientists to develop and refine computational methods for analysis of high-throughput data supporting the development of novel immunotherapies. As a member of this early stage start-up company, the successful candidate will have wide-ranging responsibilities and a tremendous opportunity to grow within a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly interdisciplinary, and collaborative team. Primary Responsibilities: -Develop and refine computational methods for analysis of high-throughput data. -Perform computational analysis of molecular profiling data. -Integrate data across multiple assay platforms (e.g., genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic). -Provide guidance on experimental design and interpretation for biological studies where bioinformatics expertise is required. -Lead the evaluation and implementation of new bioinformatics tools and solutions. Minimum Requirements: -Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or related fields with 2+ years working experience in applying quantitative approaches to solving biological problems. -Expertise in algorithmic development and implementation, statistical programming and data manipulation, using e.g. R/Bioconductor, Matlab, Python, and open-source bioinformatics tools. -Hands on experience in analyzing and integrating NGS, RNA-Seq and proteomics data. -Network analyses of molecular signatures generated under biological or compound perturbation. -Experience in leveraging data mining and integrated analysis of molecular profiling data to identify potential biomarkers and drug targets. -Strong problem-solving skills, collaborative nature and enthusiasm for innovation. -Ability to work independently in a dynamic and multidisciplinary team. -Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Requirements: -Scientific understanding of molecular biology, genomics. -Experience in immunology / oncology. -Experience in single cell omics.
