Job Description:
Are you excited about mining insights from large amounts of data? Are you passionate about building predictive applications and solving critical business problems? Do you love learning and trying out new machine learning algorithms and big data technologies? Do you enjoy the whole data science lifecycle from ideation, data exploration, model building, results communication, all the way to productization? You will have opportunities to work on problems and data sets across the Workday organization: anomaly detection, time series forecasting, pattern recognition, natural language processing, and customer segmentation, just to name a few. Your work will not only inform critical product and operational decisions but, will also be built into the product to directly improve customer experience. In addition to projects, you will be able to learn from fellow top notch data scientists and engineers, follow and share cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning research, and publish academic papers and patents. Some technology you’ll likely work with here: Modeling: Python (NumPy, SciPy, pandas), R, Scala, Java, MLlib, H2O Visualization: D3.js, Highcharts, Tableau, Gephi, Datameer Big data tools: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Elasticsearch/ELK, Kafka, Flink, Druid, Zeppelin You should have... -Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala. -Mastery of at least one statistical modeling tool such as R, Matlab, or SAS. -Experience in stats/machine learning algorithms, such as SVM, logistic regression, boosting, ARIMA, clustering, LDA, deep learning, etc. -BS degree + 2 years of relevant experience or MS/PhD degree in the fields of Computer Science, Applied Math, Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Computational Biology, or other quantitative fields. -Curiosity in data and a strong desire to continuously improve. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
