Job Description:
The applied mathematics position within the bioinformatics team is an opportunity to contribute to algorithms and methods to solve meaningful problems in molecular diagnostics. We offer challenging algorithmic problems with deep mathematical backing and direct collaboration with the scientists and engineers developing the physical platform. Responsibilities: -Translate physical processes into computational models. -Develop algorithms for data analysis. -Provide interpretation and present findings to cross functional teams both technical and non-technical. Required Skills: -Familiarity with research statistics, Bayesian statistics, graph theory, combinatorics, and mathematical modeling of physical systems. -Understanding of data mining and machine learning algorithms. -Python with numpy/scipy programming for algorithms development. -Problem solving with small cross functional teams. Required Experience: 5+ years’ algorithm design within an industry setting or relevant post-doctoral work Education: PhD in mathematics or computer science
