Job Description:
Tenure-Track Faculty position in the College Public Health in the field of systems data integration at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will join a growing team of multidisciplinary faculty and staff committed to developing a transformative, comprehensive, and scalable systems-science approach for modeling and predicting health outcomes for those most at risk for poor health in Ohio and beyond. The ideal candidate will have experience examining health outcomes as a function of multilevel determinants, using large complex data sets that include biological (genomics/metabolomics), behavioral, psychological, health (electronic health records), and contextual (neighborhood) data. The candidate will also have opportunity to teach undergraduate-or graduate-level data analytics classes related to candidate's areas of expertise. Joint appointments are possible and actively encouraged with other disciplines at OSU such as medicine, sociology, biology, genetics, and geography. This position is partially funded by Ohio State’s Discovery Themes Initiative Translational Data Analytics https://discovery.osu.edu/focus -areas/data-analytics/ which is assembling a critical mass of scholars who apply data analytics to scientific problems across all disciplines. Required Qualifications: Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. or other doctoral degree with expertise in sociology, bioinformatics, geography, systems science or a related field, by the start of employment, and to present evidence of excellence in teaching and research.
