-PhD in computational biology, bioinformatics or equivalent.

-A minimum of 4 years relevant experience is required. Academic Research and Post Doc experience that demonstrated both technical and collaborative skills will be considered.

-Fluency in various machine and deep learning applications/design especially regarding neural networks (Markov chains/fields, generic algorithms, PCAs, ICAs, and ensemble methods are greatly appreciated and respected).

-Familiarity with general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Python, C/C++, Matlab.

-Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patternDemonstrated experience in data curation, data mining and an ability to interrogate, interpret, and visualize large and diverse, biological and toxicological datasets.

-Demonstrated ability to independently develop and implement computational workflows starting from raw data through analysis, hypothesis generation and visualization.

-Demonstrated experience in leveraging in silico methodologies to drive drug discovery projects.

-Familiarity with proteomic and genomic data analysis and systems biology software.

-Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively in a matrix, global environment as part of a multidisciplinary team.

-Skilled in clearly communicating complex computational approaches and methodology to non-computational scientists.

-Ideal candidate will be a software engineer or computational biologist that can think from the point of view of a biologist while understanding computer science / software engineering at a deep level; very close interaction with molecular / cell biologists will be expected at every level from tool / algorithm design, curation / quality control, analysis, and code testing to ultimately delivering algorithms and tools (Bioinformatics Software Engineer) or insights and recommendations (Computational Biologist) to other researchers and decision makers.

-Wide understanding of both biology and computational biology.

-Experience working in fast paced team environments (industry and start-up experience is a plus).

-Ability to understand and make decisions and recommendations about high level strategy as well as about the details of an analysis project or experiment.

-Extensive experience in bioinformatics, software engineering / testing / validation, data curation, large scale data and NGS analysis, statistics, or statistical model building, as evidenced by productive and successful programs and/or publications.

-Experience with Git, R Markdown / LaTeX.
