Job Description:
A Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr Justin M. O’Sullivan to perform computational studies into the association between 3-dimensional genome organisation and genome activation.

Understanding eukaryotic genome biology requires the integration of the linear DNA sequence, epigenetic modifications, and nuclear proteins that are present within the nucleus. The interactions between these layers of information may be captured in the emergent spatial genome organisation. As such genome organisation represents a key research area for decoding the role of genetic variation in development and disease. We integrate empirical cell biology, genomics, GWAS and computational biology in an attempt to further our understanding of genome biology. Projects will use Hi-C, RNA sequencing and metagenomes to interrogate the role of genome structure changes in response to environmental signals.

Who are we looking for?

-You’ll be highly-motivated with a Ph.D. and a strong background in genomics, bioinformatics or bio-statistics

-Documented previous experience with analysis of high-throughput large-scale genetic, transcriptome or Hi-C datasets is essential

-Programming skills in Perl, Python, or equivalent languages is a requisite; as is experience with R and Linux-based operating systems
