Job Description:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Computational Sciences, this individual will develop and deploy robust data processing and analysis pipelines for NGS and other large datasets, apply sophisticated analyses to answer a wide variety of research questions, and work closely with other collaborators across Moderna. Responsibilities: -Develop and deploy robust data processing and analysis pipelines for a variety of NGS protocols and related methods -Identify and benchmark available tools and develop new algorithms as needed for use in analysis pipelines -Manage the release and deployment of pipelines in a shared cloud computing infrastructure -Employ best practices in coding, including thorough testing and documentation of code -Support a wide variety of research via data analysis, statistical analysis, and experimental design -Work collaboratively with scientists, software engineers, and others across the company Qualifications: -PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biostatistics, or related discipline -Proven success in the design, development, and deployment of data analysis pipelines -Familiarity with modern NGS tools and analysis of NGS data -Fluency in Python, including packages in the scientific computing stack -Experience with Docker, Luigi, pandas, Amazon Web Services, and Spark -Familiarity with best practices in software development, including version control, unit and integration testing, documentation, and deployment -Fluency in a wide range of statistical tests and design of experiment techniques -Track record of publication of scientific research and/or method development -Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) -Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment -Ability to effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment
