Job Description:
The University Department of Paediatrics is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Bioinformatician (senior) at the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG), based at the Centre of Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine (CCVTM). The overall objective of the post is to accelerate the understanding of human immune responses to vaccination and infection and perform complex analysis integrating multiple layers of data (molecular and clinical). The results of such analyses are ground for new project development and high impact publications. You will be responsible for developing code for customised integrative analysis, visualization of results, the development of research objectives, projects and proposals and coordinating internal and external project collaborations. You will have a relevant PhD and profound research experience in bioinformatics and advanced programming. You will have knowledge and experience of a wide range of techniques including machine learning and possibly immunology and high throughput technology (e.g. sequencing). You will have good organisational and interpersonal skills and the ability to supervise junior scientists/students. This is a full-time post offered for 3 years in the first instance.
