Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced bioinformatician to join our growing Bioinformatics Core (BIC), and work closely with PIs in the Penn CVI. Job duties will include, but are not limited to: Perform systematic analysis of array data and next-generation sequencing (NGS) data, including Chip-seq and RNA-seq. The candidate will also analyze human genetic data for research purposes, including identifying novel SNPs/variants and mutations. The candidate will interact with laboratory PIs and members, assist in experiment design, analyze data, and integrate other empirical experimental data in order to advance scientific projects. The candidate will be expected to work closely with the Institute for Bioinformatics (IBI) to generate and share ‘best-practices’ and participate in weekly core meetings led by the IBI. The weekly meetings are an opportunity to exchange ideas and develop approaches with the larger bioinformatics community on the Penn campus. Position is contingent on continued funding.

Qualifications:

A Master’s Degree or more and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
