Job Description:
Responsibilities:

Project Management:

  1. Operationalizes data management processes including data processing, system development, system validation and system implementation
  2. Identifies, reports and prevents or mitigates project risks
  3. Provides progress reports on system development, system validation, system implementation, data collection and data processing
  4. Monitors data and workflow processes to mitigate project risks
  5. Tracks production and communicate problems/backlogs to the project team and managements
  6. Calculates and monitors productivity standards and process metrics
  7. Communicates project status to study and department leadership
Documentation Processes:
  1. Acts as the primary creator of document and maintenance of study forms for use by level I team members
  2. Creates and maintains study form instructions and medical record abstraction guidelines used by level I team members
  3. Uses study protocols, data dictionaries, forms and documents to create basic logical data models
  4. Creates and selects written procedures, study protocols, interviews and observations used by level I team members to create data and workflow diagrams
  5. Maintains standardized data management documentation including: data definitions, logical data models, functional specifications of information systems used, data access and control procedures and associated records, audit findings and corrective action responses
Technical Processes:
  1. Inputs, imports and reconciles study data
  2. Identifies and resolves data discrepancies, codes data using standard terminologies, data transformation and data profiling
  3. Develops data screens, error checks and workflows in proprietary and open source systems
  4. Maintains functional specifications for data systems including screens, data structure, data discrepancy identification and resolution, system interfaces, automated data processing, algorithms and workflow
  5. Performs functional user acceptance testing and participate in usability testing for system and interfaces: runs and distributes pre-built reports; and writes SQ: code to produce ad hoc reports

May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in biomedical informatics, computer science or science-related area plus three (3) years of experience working with data or in a biomedical informatics field
  • SQL programming skills, analytical skills, the ability to use data and process modeling, and the knowledge of form design, database design and workflow development
  • Proficient at performing system testing and ability to validate and evaluate information systems
  • Knowledge of information system implementation processes and change control
  • Ability to effectively draft and maintain process documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures and work instructions
