The Department of Psychology is announcing four to five PhD student positions in psychology, at least one within an unspecified subject (i.e., open position) and at least two within specific subjects (i.e., project positions). This position may be appointed within any research area in psychology, presuming the availability of appropriate supervisors from our faculty (for further information, please see: the list of supervisors and the Department’s research divisions). Appointment to this position presupposes that the highest ranked application is judged to be also of high quality.
Applicants may submit only one application for the position within an unspecified subject. However, applicants may also submit a research proposal intended for a position within a specified subject (see ”project positions”, below). Applicants who submit two research proposals will only be considered simultaneously for the position within an unspecified subject if the two proposals are substantially different from one another with respect to theory, method and/or research area. Applicants should also specify how the two research proposals differ.

Applicants may submit only one application to any of the specific projects above. To be considered for appointment to a specified project position, an applicant must receive employment within the project. At least two specified project positions will be appointed in the above projects. Given that most projects receive eligible applicants, the quality of the applications will determine those projects that will become PhD positions.
Those applying to a specified project position may also submit a research proposal for the unspecified subject position (see above). Applicants who submit two research proposals will only be considered simultaneously for the position within an unspecified subject if the two proposals are substantially different from one another with respect to theory, method and/or research area. Terms of employment
The PhD program comprises 48 months of full-time studies. The positions are financed by a doctoral employment ("doktorandanställning"). Applicants with external financing may also apply.
