Job Description:
The Associate Computational Biologist will work with a multi-disciplinary group to perform data analysis and also to develop new state-of-the-art analysis methods, computational algorithms and software tools to address current challenges in biomedical research. The lab’s primary analysis focus is genomics of cancer and infectious disease.

The Associate Computational Biologist will also work as a member of the team that develops GenomeSpace (genomespace.org), a software environment developed to allow researchers to easily perform integrative genomic analyses that require the navigation and use of multiple tools. A major component of the GenomeSpace project is a library of analysis “recipes,” online vignettes that demonstrate how to combine GenomeSpace tools to perform steps in integrative analysis workflows. By building an analytic “cookbook” of cross-tool recipes, the team aims to commoditize important research tasks. The incumbent will develop, test, and document GenomeSpace recipes, and will train others on the programs and software as needed.
