Job Description:
The labs of Dr. Jason Sahl (PMI) and Dr. Viacheslav Fofanov (SICCS) are expanding their operations and are seeking to fill a full-time position for highly skilled and motivated Programmer (Bioinformatics) to help us with development and execution of software tools for metagenomic data analysis. This is a chance to participate in projects that are on the cutting edge of developments in Molecular Diagnostics, Bioinformatics and Biodefense. The position requires experience with programming languages C/C++, Rust, and python. The ability to work in both Windows and UNIX environments, particularly in highly distributed high performance computing clusters is highly desired. Basic knowledge of biology and bioinformatics are desirable. We expect the ideal candidate to work in collaboration with other members of our research teams, including biologists, statisticians, and other computer scientists. Minimum Qualifications: Experience solving software problems, experience in C/C++, experience with scripting languages, such as python, BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering/Bioinformatics or a related field.
