Job Description:
Inscopix stands at the forefront of Next Generation Neuroscience. Our flagship product for imaging large scale neural circuit activity during behavior, nVista, provides neuroscientists with unprecedented data sets. The detailed activity of over 1000 neurons can be recorded across time in freely behaving animals. As an Application Data Scientist you will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with our customers (comprised of prestigious neuroscience laboratories including 6 Nobel Laureate labs and major pharmaceutical companies), our internal scientists, and software and algorithm developers to study the encoding and decoding of information in large-scale neuronal populations, apply machine learning methods and statistical modeling to high-dimensional neural data, and employ active learning methods for closed-loop experiments.
Required:
A MS in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Biomedical Engineering or in a related field.
Strong mathematical/scientific programming skills in a language such as Matlab or Python.
Experience with bioinformatics algorithms and large-scale data analysis.
Background in statistics, machine learning, and optimization.
A desire to work with amicable, energetic, interdisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
Desired:
A PhD in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Mathematics/Statistics, Biomedical Engineering or in a related field.
Experience analyzing cellular calcium imaging and/or electrophysiology data.
2+ years of industry experience interacting directly with customers.
