As an Applied Data Scientist you will apply machine learning techniques and develop new solutions to novel problems. As part of this role, you will be expected and encouraged to keep your ML and Data Science skills sharp and current, and will have the opportunity to work with internal and external partners, putting analytics solutions into production. You will spend time working directly with internal and external partners to understand their needs, apply your data science expertize to ideate and solve healthcare big data problems

You will uses predictive modeling, statistics, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structure and unstructured data . Develop software, algorithms and applications to apply mathematics to data, perform large scale experimentation and build data driven apps to translate data into intelligence, solve a variety of business problems and enable business strategy. Assists business with casual inferences, observations with finding patterns , relationships in data. Must possess strong understanding of internal business segment (stakeholders) and possess strong written and communication skills. Typically requires expertise in relational database structures, research methods, machine learning, Cloud based technologies, Big Data technologies (i.e. Hadoop , HBase, Lucene/Solr), analytics packages (i.e. R, Mahout, Matlab, Octave, Weka), scripting languages (i.e. Python, Perl), programing languages (i.e. Java, C/C++, SQL). Typically possesses advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Operation Research, and Statistics or equivalent expertise.

Qualifications

You must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through your educational level research and/or relevant job/internship experiences. You must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work in a demanding team-oriented environment.

Minimum Qualifications:
MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a relevant science/engineering discipline Minimum 4 years of experience with developing client-driven solutions and/or applications to real-world large dataset problems, including: Data cleansing and profiling using scripting languages, preferably Python or R programming Development of features based on client input and domain research Experience with the Hadoop ecosystem Selection and development of models using a variety of techniques and toolsets Minimum 2 years post-degree experience in the development of commercial machine learning solutions and/or the design and implementation of analytic algorithms Preferred Qualifications:
Background in healthcare is a plus Experience in time-series analytics and anomaly detection PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Bioinformatics, Medical Informatics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics or a relevant science/engineering discipline 4+ years of experience with the development and delivery of client-facing Big Data solutions 2+ years of experience in functional and object-oriented programming (e.g., C++, Java, C#, etc.) 1+ years of experience with the design and implementation of large-scale distributed analytics in a framework such as Spark Research experience in machine learning, graph analytics, numerical analysis Job Category
