Job Description:
The Center for Clinical Research and Evidence-Based Medicine (CCREBM) at the UTHealth McGovern Medical School invites applications for a tenure-track or non-tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Current CCREBM faculty research interests are diverse and include the development and application of Bayesian methods, clinical trial methodology, statistical methods in epidemiology, bioinformatics, longitudinal and multilevel modeling, and research ethics. Our faculty actively collaborate with researchers in various departments and schools across the Texas Medical Center. The CCREBM offers a Clinical Research Curriculum for clinical investigators and a Master's Degree Program in Clinical Research.

Duties and Responsibilities: Successful candidates are expected to develop an independent and collaborative research program. The candidate will teach in the Clinical Research Curriculum and the MS degree program or other courses provided by the CCREBM. The candidate will also mentor and advise MS students and will serve on thesis committees. We also expect the candidate to serve as senior statistician on a variety of clinical research studies. These duties include providing statistical design and analysis support to clinical collaborators and mentoring junior investigators in research methods.

Required Qualifications:

(1) Ph.D. in Biostatistics, statistics or associated discipline.

(2) a commitment to excellence in research and teaching.

(3) a record or potential for obtaining peer-reviewed funding and publications through independent and collaborative research in the area of specialization.

(4) excellent written and oral communication skills.

(5) ability to effectively interact with UTHealth and CCREBM personnel, investigators, educators and students.
