Assistant Scientist (Bioinformatician)Univ. of Miami School of MedicineSylvester Comprehensive Cancer CenterUSA-Florida-Miami The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Biostatistics and Bioinformatics Core Facility, is seeking a Bioinformatics Assistant Scientist (Bioinformatician), Ph.D. level required, with data analysis expertise in high dimensional data analysis and next generation sequencing, or relevant experience (clinical, laboratory and epidemiological studies). Excellent English skills (both verbal and written) required. Individual will be responsible for initiating and maintaining independent research collaborations with SCCC clinicians and basic scientists, and working collaboratively with members of the division on research or development projects.

Will provide up to date bioinformatics expertise in data analysis. This analysis includes but is not limited to: gene expression analysis for transcriptome profiling and/or gene regulatory network building, microRNA target analysis, genome or transcriptome assembly from next generation sequencing data, and its visualization, SNP functionality analysis. Will collaborate with Cancer Center investigators on experimental design and subsequent data analysis of gene expression, genomics, next generation sequencing and/or proteomics studies. Qualified candidate must possess one year Ph.D. level experience, with statistical expertise in clinical, laboratory and epidemiological studies. One year post-doctoral experience.
