Job Description:
Columbia University's Department of Neurology and Institute for Genomic Medicine (IGM) seek faculty conducting genetic research in Parkinson's disease and related disorders. We are particularly interested in a researcher with training in genetic analysis, genetic epidemiology, next generation sequencing or bioinformatics. Successful candidates will have opportunities to collaborate with Columbia University's initiatives in Precision Medicine.

We encourage applications for tenure track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Physician scientists are welcome.

Columbia University has exceptional programs in genetics and genomics, neurology and neuroscience especially in clinical, epidemiologic and basic neuroscience research. The new appointee will be affiliated with the Department of Neurology and Institute for Genomic Medicine, with opportunities for interaction with other institutes and groups at the Columbia University Medical Center and Morningside Heights campus. In addition, there will be opportunities for interactions and participation in the activities of the Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute, and access to core facilities such as high-throughput screening at Columbia University and to the genomics infrastructure of the New York Genome Center.

Minimum Qualifications:

Successful candidates are expected to develop and maintain an independent and externally funded research program and to interface with clinical and translational efforts at Columbia.

Applicants who will function as clinicians must be licensed in New York State before appointment begins.
